The Institutional Advancement Office congratulates Angela L. Feldman, whose name was drawn to win the Penn College desktop pen set that was on display at Tuesday’s Fall FIESTA on the Susquehanna Street Mall. A pre-radiography major from Brockway, Feldman was one of the many students who entered their names in the drawing for the pen set, which was made by students in the college’s automated manufacturing lab.

Thomas C. Leitzel
A college alumnus and former administrator has been chosen as president of the Technical College of the Lowcountry, Beaufort, S.C. Thomas C. Leitzel earned an associate degree in business management at Williamsport Area Community College (a Penn College forerunner) in 1976. He was the evening and weekend coordinator in the college's Business and Computer Science Division from 1981-83 and assistant director for business and computer technologies from 1983-85. Leitzel holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Lycoming College, a master's in education from Temple University and a doctorate in community and junior college education from Virginia Tech. A Harrisburg native, he most recently served as vice president of graduate enrollment at Pfeiffer University's Charlotte, S.C., campus. More about his selection as president is available online.

Penn College has presented Mentorship Awards to two Baltimore-based companies and their representatives: Karl Quinn/Alban Tractor Co. Inc. and David A. Potts/ The Whiting-Turner Contracting Co. The Mentorship Award recognizes alumni and/or businesses that have made significant or ongoing contributions to the education and development of students. The awards were presented during Saturday's Summer Commencement ceremony at the Community Arts Center.

Two new Penn College alumni, a returning student and a recent high school graduate who simultaneously enrolled in college courses last year were among medalists at the 44th annual National Leadership and Skills Conference held June 23-28 in Kansas City, Mo.
