The Student Activities Office is organizing a new community-service project this winter called Operation Snowflake. Student organizations will sign up to sponsor a week during the winter months. If it snows during that week, the organization's members will shovel the walks of elderly citizens and alumni in the area. Student Activities is looking for employees who have elderly parents or neighbors in the area that could use a hand shoveling this winter. The program is completely free and it provides current students a chance to connect with alumni and members of the community. If you would like to add someone to the shoveling list, simply call the Student Activities Office at 327-7463 or e-mail Michael Hersh. The program will begin in mid-November, but sign-ups will continue to be taken throughout the winter months.
